5 minutes with our founder Ryan McDonald and doing business in North Canterbury.
⏱ 5 MINUTES WITH…
💻 Ryan McDonald of MoMac, Rangiora:
Q: WHEN DID YOU LAUNCH YOUR BUSINESS?
A: “The idea for MoMac was formed in 2017 and this is when we completed a soft launch to test the market as a new business and a new marketing service in Rangiora, North Canterbury.”
Q: WHAT DRIVES YOU TO GET OUT OF BED EACH MORNING AND GIVE 100% TO THE BUSINESS?
A: “Seeing our clients reap the benefits and recognition from the work we have created for them is extremely rewarding and something our staff is very proud of. A good day in business gives an incredible sense of accomplishment and a tough day at the office pushes you to learn more about yourself and your business. A constant strive for being better every day is a big motivation for me and one that motivates me to show up every day.”
Q: WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN NORTH CANTERBURY?
A: “Smaller communities like North Canterbury are very tight-knit and good reputations go a long way. Having lived overseas in big cities I know what it is like to feel completely anonymous due to sheer size and population which can make you feel less connected to the people. Smaller communities have more of a sense of belonging and rely more on word of mouth. This approach to business encourages you to have good integrity and operate your business well.”
Q: WHAT GEM OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT STARTING A BUSINESS IN NORTH CANTERBURY?
A: “Get involved in the community as the power of connection in a small community is essential to succeeding, locals like spending locally and with someone they trust. This benefits the local economy and helps it flourish and thrive for everyone who lives there.”
Q: SHOUT OUT TO ANOTHER LOCAL BUSINESS FOR THEIR SUPPORT IN YOUR BUSINESS JOURNEY (OR JUST BECAUSE YOU LOVE WHAT THEY DO!)
A: “Max and Broadhurst Builders were one of our very first clients and they have been with us ever since. Over the past 4 years, we have contributed towards Broadhurst Builders becoming a household name in North Canterbury and this has been a journey we are very proud of.”
